More Video Mapping Projects for a AM-PM
Now that LPG is firmly in the past we’re are picking up the reins again at AM-PM.
There are several projects on the go: Alex has had a server up at Pinewood filming for an unnamed high profile movie. Then there’s a stage show with panoramic projection mapping under discussion & an experiential event in the offing.
Whenever there’s down time available its full steam ahead with the mobile video mapping truck conversion- more updates soon, & with luck next week well get a chance to start tying that in with the launch of ‘video mapping in 24hrs’.

millennium wharf for fun?
So most people know that I'm acting as Lighting director at London Pleasure Gardens. I'm on a mission to spruce up millennium wharf as a bit of a teaser for marketing LPG. I'd take silo D, but the land there is being treated. power not withstanding we are going to try & light it up an get a bit of animated branding up there to tease on a few marketing deals for the LPG team all on an absolute shoe string!
That means it's not strictly going to be mapping, although we do have a few mapping projects lined up at London Pleasure Gardens. it'll be a static architectural lighting installation utilising some element of mapping in it's creation.

And they are off!
Projection mapping a building in 24 hrs. work has started about lunch time, a modicum if content has been created from scratch & mapped to a basic structure in about 1hr, the signs are good, we have windows chasing, & spinning etc I was keen to look at some basic animation techniques & see if we can create an interactive video mapped building. This
Phone grab is the first try & was done in 20mins! Basic & yes, the top half is not there- but that's the point- to make it accessible we need to avoid expensive media systems & specialists- check on wednesday for the compleat product there's a lot of potential here- we managed to produce fairly convincing content in 20mins with no wireframe & no after effects
We are going to have another bash on Wednesday, this time a full day - the target will be a recognisable mapping with some branding & more custom animation work on the building.

Animate a building in less than an hour
To map a building in 24 we need a powerful server that can manage content quickly & some subject specific content. So one of today's tasks is to animate the building as part of the arsenal for the final product. Along side that we will design the playback system for the server to make it playable.

video mapping for stage sets
I've been keeping my head down for a while on this project. It was a tall order-video mapping on a budget & I was making some very bold claims when I stated the blog...... but I've cracked it! we launched it in February at the event production show after locking myself away for 2 weeks in a dark room with nothing but a set model & Alex Allen to keep me company( thanks Al). we took two bookings straight away all done & dusted within 7 days.
I figured I could be onto something here & after some persuasion booked a stand at Confex where I was inundated with enquiries & expect to take bookings within a week. check it out www.astral- media.co.uk.
catch me if you can.

video mapped sets at confex
If you can spare a couple of minutes & you’re involved in presentations have a quick peek at this http://www.astral-media.co.uk/video-mapping-for-stage-sets.htm its real video mapping, I know everyone is talking about & let’s face its expensive. We’ve changed all that...
We’ve found a way of providing a set like the one in the video for a price that’s comparable to that of a standard set, complete with server, projectors & set -no catch. If take into account that that includes the branding with no print fee you can see why at the launch last month we found we had a shocking successes on our hands.
We will bringing a scale model of a set to the show at stand P832 come and see how to apply this new technology for your greatest gain.
If that has whetted your appetite you can find links to our site at the bottom of the page.
